Javier Abdala (Bio)
Javier Abdala’s sculpture or assemblage is unstructured and authentic. He challenges himself to work in a “spontaneous” way that would bring him closer to the outsider art or brut art. He creates dreamy characters, bird-human-aviator beings on the one side and angels, the Parcae, bomb droppers, masked ones, human skulls on the other side. Their forms seem to be captured by fast movement as if they were frozen films. The movie is about the adventure of life, the violent present that traps us, living inside a frame, getting out of the frame. There is humor because Abdala’s anger is with the strong and bright colors of the palette. The tragic and the joy in pursuit of balance. There are also details that invite to a pause and wakes curiosity. Don´t miss the option "Gallery of details" available in most of the artworks.
